One community cultural festival!

Press Release
The fifth annual One Community Cultural Festival is bringing art, music, and dancing to downtown Omaha for a free two-day event on September 12th and 13th.
Founded by the Nebraska Chinese Association and presented by The RiverFront, the One Community Cultural Festival stands as the city’s largest multicultural festival, celebrating and highlighting Omaha’s rich and robust diversity.
“The RiverFront is honored to support and host this event that celebrates the many different cultures that make up the unique fabric of the Omaha community,” said Katie Bassett, Vice President of Parks at MECA.
The celebration will begin on September 12th with a night of performances, featuring Sounds of the City from the Omaha Symphony. The concert will showcase six different community performances alongside the Omaha Symphony, including the Nebraska Chinese Association, rapper Lite Pole, North Omaha Music and Arts, the River City Mixed Chorus, and more. From
classical favorites to contemporary collaborations, this joyful celebration brings together neighbors, cultures, and sounds in a powerful expression of unity. Bring your family, your friends, and your love of music. Omaha Symphony Resident Conductor & Principal Pops Conductor Ernest Richardson will conduct and host the concert.
“It’s incredibly exciting to gather as a community to celebrate so many groups and organizations,” Liz Kendall Weisser, Director of Education & Community Engagement for the Omaha Symphony, said. “We feel very fortunate to be working with the Nebraska Chinese Association and The RiverFront to continue the tradition of this accessible and fun event. This is a perfect example of the impact we hope to make with the Omaha Symphony’s Forte initiative — a showcase of our community’s strengths.”
Audiences will be able to enjoy this free outdoor concert at the Gene Leahy Mall Performance Pavilion from 7:30 to about 9 PM.
On Saturday, September 13th, the One Community Cultural Festival returns to the Gene Leahy Mall Performance Pavilion for Community Cultural Fest with NCA, a day of culturally significant activations. From 5:30 to 9 PM, The RiverFront and Nebraska Chinese Association are collaborating for a day of diverse programming, showcasing talent from around the metro. Several vendors and local organizations, including the Children’s Entrepreneur Market, will also be available to educate and enlighten visitors with information about resources available within the community.
In addition to family-friendly activities and an impressive assortment of food and merchant displays surrounding the Downtown Green event lawn, attendees can also enjoy singing, dancing, and various forms of interpretive art on the Performance Pavilion stage, including salsa, belly dance, flamenco, lion and dragon dance, martial arts demonstrations, and so much more.
The One Community Cultural Festival is a free event to attend. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome for this all-day experience.
